Feminae in Musica includes 10 chamber music works written and performed by women musicians, including Beth Anderson's passionate Belgian Tango, and Barbara Heller's haunting Lalai, Lullaby for Awakening, dedicated to "all women who are held in Islamic prisons for political reasons, to all those who have already been executed and to all those whose lives are still in danger." In addition to two new solos (Reka and Novela) by Aleksandra Maslovaric, the album also features two works for violin and piano (Nocturne and D'un Matin de Printemps) by Lili Boulanger, the first woman composer to win the coveted Premiere Prix de Rome (and sister to celebrated teacher Nadia Boulanger).
